Fernando is a meticulous professional, able to execute ideas beautifully in the kitchen. His training in prestigious kitchens across Europe—Patrick Guilbauld in Dublin, Le Gavroche in London, Don Alfonso 1890 in Naples, Maison Pic in Valence, and Can Fabes in Barcelona, among others—allowed him to head his own project in Madrid at the age of 27.

Shortly after opening in 2005, Zaranda received a Michelin star and two Repsol suns, and was touted by both El Mundo and Food and Wine magazine as the Madrid's Best New Restaurant.

Upon moving to Mallorca in 2015, Zaranda received its second Michelin star.
